A few Kilometers off the Wellawaya to Tanamalwila highway by Buduruwagala junction, this place is a hidden gem of 7-8 century rock carvings with the central image of Buddha. Incredibly spiritual and peaceful surrounded by jungle where apparently there are more ancient sites but are not accessible. An amazing natural stone bath which fed from an underground spring. A well spent hour an a chance to see crocodiles in the lake and maybe the odd cobra on the approach road.
