  • Anuradhapura, is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. From the 4th century BC, it was the capital of Sri Lanka until the beginning of the 11th century AD. During this period it remained one of the most stable and durable centers of political power and urban life in South Asia. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over sixteen square miles (40 km²).

  • Anuradhapura

    During the reign of King Devanampiya Tissa (250 – 210 B.C.) that the Arahat Mahinda, son of the great Buddhist Emperor Asoka, led a group of missionaries from North India to Sri Lanka. With his followers he settled in a hermitage of caves on the hill of Mihintale – the name which derives from Mahinda’s own.The new religion swept over the land in a wave. The King himself donated land for a great monastery in the very heart of the city which was also his own Royal Park – the beautiful Mahamegha Gardens.

  • Anuradhapura-Jaya-Sri-Maha-Bodhi-We will visit the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred fig tree in the Mahamewna Gardens, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.Today it is one of the most sacred relics of the Buddhists in Sri Lanka and respected by Buddhists all over the world .An offshoot of the historical Bodhi tree under which Buddha became enlightened was planted in Anuradhapura in 288 BC.

  • Abayagiri Viharaya

    Visit Abayagiri viharaya . It is dating back to the 1st century BC, this colossal dagoba was the ceremonial focus of the 5000-strong Abhayagiri Monastery. Originally over 100m high, it was one of the greatest structures in the ancient world, its scale only matched by the pyramids of Giza. Today, after several reconstructions, Abhayagiri Dagoba soars 75m above the forest floor.

  • Mirisawetiya

    Mirisaveti Stupa is situated in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. King Dutugamunu built the Mirisaveti Stupa after defeating King Elara. After placing the Buddha relics in the sceptre, he had gone to Tissa Wewa for a bath leaving the sceptre. After the bath he returned to the place where the sceptre was placed, and it is said that it could not be moved.

  • LankaramayaLankaramaya is a stupa built by King Valagamba, in an ancient place at Galhebakada in the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The ruins show that there are rows of stone pillars and it is no doubt that there has been a house built encircling the stupa  to cover it. It has so many views to take some photographs and make some memories while travelling.

    Transfer back to Colombo – 4 hours’ drive approximately

PREPAYMENT

Unless credit Arrangement has been established with A1 Travels, the prepayment could be done as stated below. In group (GIT) bookings, 50% of the tour package is required as upfront payment to secure bookings. No reservation will be considered without advance payment / deposit. The balance of the total package cost should be paid before 30 days of the arrival of the group. Individual (FIT) booking – Full payment must be made 7 days prior to Guest arrival unless prior arrangement have been made for credit facilities. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in cancellation of all reservations & arrangements without prior notice. In certain circumstances especially during block out dates, hotels will require advance deposit to secure the reservation. Such deposits are usually required on confirmation of rooms. A1 Travels will advice the agents, when such requirements arise.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Hotels, carriers, restaurants and contractors will charge cancellation fees depending upon the circumstances, these charges will be borne by the Agents concerned and A1 Travels cannot be held responsible for cancellation charges incurred due to unforeseen circumstances. Further, A1 Travels reserve the right to charge an administrative or cancellation fee for which communication cost have been incurred. No refund in full or in part will be given for services & Bookings included in the program that are not utilized after the commencement of tour. For any cancellation before three workings days of arrival date are subjected to a one-night cancellation fee.

CHILD FARE (BELOW 12 YEARS OLD)

Unless otherwise indicated, child fare is generally 75% of the adult fare and will be provided with extra bed. But, if a child occupies a single room or a twin 1 adult, full adult fare applies. Child without bed will be 45% of the adult fare and only breakfast will be provided.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT TIME

The official check in time at hotels in Sri Lanka is at 0100 hrs and check out time at 1200 hrs. The hotel Management reserves the right to NOT release the room keys before the stipulated times.
